A great care is to be taken regarding Shih Tzu  health issues. Mostly the dog breeds  in the world have a common vet phobia issue. Likewise, you will have to go through a lot of hassle, as when you are planning to take your Shih Tzu to the vet please take note that because Shih Tzu dogs do not let strangers to pet them, to check their teeth or to hold their paws. But with the help of some effective tricks, you can eliminate vet phobia in your puppy easily. These are as follow;

Be Prepared Before Traveling: Be prepared before taking your beloved puppy to the vet for his/her general check up or for any health issue as in this way you should keep your dog away from encountering any sort of discomfort. Before your visit, take necessary measures to meet the comfort needs of your pet so that it should feel comfort before, during and after the journey to the vet.

Get Food and Water With You: One of the most effective and convenient tricks that you can follow to help your Shih Tzu get rid of vet phobia is to take their favourite food and water with you. Your pets would love traveling to vet if there is food and water for them. In fact, it is difficult for pets to miss any of their meals, so taking food and water with you before visiting to a vet would help you join your pet with you.

Select A Vet That Is Nearby: Many of the dogs do not prefer long journeys including Shih Tzu. Therefore, it would be beneficial for you to find a nearby vet in-order to take your dog with you. All you have to do is to browse web and search some of the reputed vets in your neighborhood. Select any one of them and start your journey. If you select the vet who charges less but far away, this would add to your dog’s inconvenience and he/she would complain about long journey. At the end of the day, this inconvenience can enhance their vet phobia.

Train Your Puppy to Experience New Things: Dogs get confused like human beings if they do something new. For example, if you will take your dog to the vet for the very first time in the car, they will get nervous as traveling in the car would be a new experience for him/her. So, you should train your puppy accordingly. For this, take your dogs to the park or anywhere else in the car so that they become familiar and their journey in the car would not be a new experience for them.
